I have always loved words, and it fascinates me how much power there is in a single word. On this Good Friday morning, I have been thinking of the words that remind me of Easter. I have chosen ten of them along with scripture passages that have guided our family and strengthened our faith in the resurrected Savior, who is the first and final Word.
- Light – John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
- Healing – Psalm 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
- Victory – 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Newness – Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
- Forgiveness – Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
- Glory – Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
- Life – John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- Resurrection – John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
- Hope – Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
- Love – John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
And one more scripture for the word LOVE – Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
From the Brett Family to yours – we pray you find hope in these words and feel the depth of the love of the Savior during this holy time.
